We are being told to eat correctly and get in 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day. Many people find this very difficult to fulfill! Why not try a delicious fruit smoothie? They are delicious and healthy!

 

A fruit smoothie is a blended beverage loved by all. You can find a smoothie everywhere from health food markets to coffee shops to malls. Because smoothies are easy to make, they have become a popular beverage that you can make yourself at home. Smoothies can be both a tasty dessert and an excellent source of vitamins and minerals and most of them are absolutely fat free. Hundreds of smoothie recipes are available on the internet or in the books.

 

To make a smoothie, all you do is blend your favorite unsweetened frozen juice concentrate with a mixture of your favorite fruits. Then add water or ice until you reach your preferred texture. For a creamier flavor, try a smoothie recipe with low-fat milk and yogurt. Yogurt adds acidophiles – a bacteria that aids digestion.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:
6 large strawberries
1 banana
1 cup of whole milk

Directions:
Just blend all ingredients till smoothie texture is formed and all fruits are well blended. Serve and enjoy!

 

Homerun Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

3 kiwis peeled
1 cup strawberries
1 large banana, chopped
1 cup orange juice

 

Directions:

Freeze the fruits 20 minutes before starting. Add the banana pieces, orange juice, 1/2 cup of strawberries, and 1 kiwi to the blender and mix on high till nearly smooth. Add the remaining kiwis and strawberries and blend till fruit pieces are in smaller chucks. Serve and enjoy!

 

 

Apple Peach Cherry Smoothie Recipe

 

Ingredients:

1 apple sliced in sections
1/2 cup pitted cherries
1 cup pitted and sliced peaches
1 cup ice cubes
1 medium banana
1/2 cup milk

 

Directions:

Blend the banana, crushed ice, and milk together for about 30 seconds. Then add the cherries, apples, and peaches and blend for an additional minute on high until the fruit is mixed. Serve and enjoy!

 

 

Orange Pineapple Smoothie Recipe

 

Ingredients:

1 sweet orange peeled and sliced
1/2 cup sliced fresh pineapple
1/2 a banana
1/2 cup of orange-pineapple juice or banana-orange-pineapple juice
1/2 cup of ice

 

Directions:

Blend the banana with the ice and juice until slushy. Add the oranges and pineapple slices and blend on high for around 1 minute until pineapples are finely blended. Serve and enjoy!
